Fabrizio Ippolito D’Avino graduated in Law from the University of Parma. As early as 1997, he attended courses in International Law and Human Rights at Utrecht University in the Netherlands, and in 1998 furthered his studies at the University of California (UCSC) in the United States. He began his professional career atItalian American Chamber of Commerce a Chicago.Later moving to Milan to work in the Legal Department of Getronics, a Dutch multinational.
He subsequently returned to Venice, where he completed his legal training at the criminal law firm of Elio Zaffalon, attorney-at-law specialising in Criminal Law and the study of Human Rights.
He is registered with theVenice Bar Association and was among the first Italians admitted to List of Counsel of the International Criminal Court in The Hague. He is also authorised to practise before the Supreme Court of Cassation and Higher Courts, before which he regularly appears as defence counsel.
In 2023, he was appointed Honorary Consul of Bangladesh for the Veneto Region by the Government of Bangladesh. In 2024, he received his exequatur from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

Practice Areas

A member of the Association for Legal Studies on Immigratione (ASGI) for over twenty years, he has acted as civil party counsel in numerous criminal proceedings. In 2018, together with other legal experts, he founded the Chamber of Immigration Lawyers of the Triveneto (CAIT), serving first as Vice-President, then as President from 2021 to 2024. A long-standing advocate for the promotion of Human Rights , he has also served as President of the Chamber of Lawyers for Human Rights and Migrants (CADUS) , of which he remains a board member.
Specialised in Criminal Law, he is a member of the Supervisory Body (ODV) of Ligabue SpA, a leading company in maritime services. He has been a member of the Venice Criminal Bar Association (CPV) since the start of his career and has actively contributed to its European Affairs Committee, also lecturing in official training courses for court-appointed criminal defence lawyers. In 2024, he was appointed Chair of the CPV Committee on Europe and Fundamental Rights. He regularly collaborates with state, regional, and local authorities on initiatives to protect vulnerable persons, including work with the Guarantor for the Rights of Persons Deprived of Liberty, the Social Cohesion Department of the Municipality of Venice, and the NAVIGARe project.
He has organised and spoken at numerous conferences and advanced training courses on human rights, immigration law, and criminal law , and carries out his legal work both in advisory (non-contentious) and litigation (contentious) contexts, representing clients before national and international supreme courts.
In his free time, he enjoys playing tennis and skiing. He is an enthusiastic supporter of the Serenissima Ski Club, where he serves as a Board Member, and is Secretary of the Venice Provincial Committee of the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISIA wine enthusiast, he holds official qualifications as a Wine Taster (ONAV) and Sommelier (FISAR).
