Lawyer Marco Ferrero
Marco Ferrero is a lawyer qualified to represent clients before the Higher Courts,with extensive experience in civil and administrative law.
For fifteen years, he served as trusted legal counsel to the Banco BPM Group for the Court of Padua.
His professional path has consistently reflected a strong interest in economic law—particularly in the field of civil economy – as well as in corporate social responsibility.This has led him to specialise in employment law, welfare and social security law, environmental law, and legal frameworks governing the third sector.He provides legal assistance to private individuals, non-profit organisations, and public entities, combining litigation with strategic legal advice on compliance with EU regulations on social and environmental sustainability (known as ESG Compliance).
Practice Areas
Alongside his legal practice, from 2008 to 2020 he developed significant academic and interdisciplinary research experience. He served as a contract lecturer at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice,where Italy’s first course in Immigration Law was introduced. He has also taught on postgraduate programmes and advanced training courses at several Italian universities, including the University of Padua and the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. And has served as a senior expert at UNAR (National Office Against Racial Discrimination) under the Presidency of the Council of Ministers.
Over the course of his career, he has held several important institutional positions, including Spokesperson for the Permanent Forum of the Third Sector in Veneto, Board Member of the banking foundation Cassa di Risparmio di Padova e Rovigo, and General Councillor of the Chamber of Commerce of Padua.He has held and continues to hold management and supervisory roles in a wide range of third sector organisations, including foundations, cooperatives, umbrella associations, and ethical certification bodies—gaining substantial experience in the governance of social enterprises.
He is currently President of Fondazione Fenice Onlus, the renewable energy park located at the Interporto of Padua and Spokesperson for Community-CER,a national network promoting renewable energy self-consumption schemes.
Marco Ferrero is the author of numerous publications on topics including employment law, citizenship, anti-discrimination law, international protection, fundamental rights, and social inclusion policies. He is also one of the contributors to the Community-CER Guidelines published by Il Sole 24 Ore with the patronage of the Ministry for the Environment and the GSE (Energy Services Operator).
